1 on 1 lessons are available on violin, viola, and cello. Private lessons are open to students of all ages and experience levels. I follow the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum, supported with pop songs, fiddle music, Suzuki method books, and learner requests. Solo Recitals are held 3 times a year for private students to perform with

Classes are held at my home on the South-East Hamilton mountain

Rates and Terms:
$40/half hour or $50/45 mins or $60/hour
Lessons are booked in 2-Month Terms:
Sept/Oct, Nov/Dec, Jan/Feb, Mar/Apr, May/June, & July/Aug.
Instrument rentals are provided at a low monthly cost to private students registered for weekly lessons.
Instrument Purchase: Some gently used instruments are available for purchase. Please contact for info. I can also recommend the best places to look for an instrument upgrade when you are ready!

Our instructional year runs from mid-September until the end of May. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings on a weekly basis, with closures over the Winter holiday and March Break. Musicians perform in 3+ concerts each year. Class size is approx 25 learners with 3 instructor/section coaches, and includes YouTube tutorials to support home practice.
Rehearsals are held at 170 Dundurn St S.
Students in the group programs are not required to take additional private lessons, except after an absence from class. Members do require experience before joining the ensemble.
String Orchestra (youth or adult) - $550
Affordable instrument rentals are available for children enrolled in a group class, pending availability of instrument and size.

Youth Concert Strings (ages 10-16)
Young musicians improve their musicianship, technique, music reading/theory and performance skills while playing in harmony. We learn and perform a variety of music genres each year, from classic composers and fiddle tunes to pop songs, world music, and film scores while developing individual skills thro
Youth Concert Strings (ages 10-16)
Young musicians improve their musicianship, technique, music reading/theory and performance skills while playing in harmony. We learn and perform a variety of music genres each year, from classic composers and fiddle tunes to pop songs, world music, and film scores while developing individual skills through technical exercises. Members are divided into 4 parts: Violin I, II, Viola/3rd violin, Cello. Experienced members are challenged with more difficult parts including challenging rhythm and bow patterns, vibrato, and shift-work in addition to leadership roles, while less experienced musicians can enjoy simpler melodic and harmonic lines in the 1st position with fewer technical demands. Youth classes include diversified learning opportunities with music theory activities, worksheets, and games at each class for our younger learners.
Adult Community Strings (ages 16+)
This mixed-level ensemble is intended for mature learners with some experience on their instrument and provides the social experience of learning and performing with others in a fun, welcoming and low-pressure environment. Members are divided into 4 parts: Violin I, II, Viola/3rd violin, Cello I, II. Experienced members are challenged with more difficult parts while less experienced musicians can enjoy simpler melodic and harmonic lines and technical demands.
